Summary: A hedgehog is released into the wild.

  It was early in the morning, and the two Archangels were walking in the Manor grounds towards the woods. Michael had his baby hedgehog bundled up in a sweater and was cradling her gently; Gabriel grinned.

"You know, it's June. I don't think she'll be that cold even if it is early."

"She's a baby," Michael replied as if that explained everything. He also had a pack of supplies for her to eat - fruit, none of that insect stuff. And he had considered getting her a sword, but she didn't have the hands for it. Oh well, that's what the spines were for, he figured. "Ah, this is the spot."

He knelt down and opened his hands. Dame Peeg walked out of them, pausing on the soft ground and looking up at him with big adorable hedgehog eyes.

"That'll do, Peeg," he said somberly. "That'll do."

Gabriel knelt as well, reaching out and gently stroking the top of her head with a forefinger. "Off you go."

They'd kept her for only one night, but he was already fond of the adorable little animal.

Dame Peeg wandered off into the wilderness.

Michael sighed, feeling down. He looked at Gabriel, and impulsively admitted, "I'm bored of the Manor. Wanna go on our world tour now?"

Gabriel stared at him. "What, right now? I mean, I'm not against going with you, but I need to make arrangements for the cats and talk to Ms Hodges about leaving my job and there are a few things I need to take from my room, and..." And apparently Ms Hodges's rapidfire speech had rubbed off on him.

Michael stood up, stretched. "That is what miracles are for." He looked at Gabriel, smiled, and held out his hand.

Gabriel's gaze flickered between Michael's face and his outstretched hand. I shouldn't - but he wanted to. And it was the thought of spending so long in Michael's company, exploring all the not-quite-familiar places of Earth with him, that Gabriel was looking forward to, after all. And he had wanted to leave.

All he needed to bring were his sword, horn, a couple of first-editions that were personal copies and not the library's, and Ishtar's gift. With a thought, his sword and horn were at his waist and everything else was in a rucksack on his back. The cats were quite surprised about appearing at his feet, but he wanted to say goodbye before sending them back to his room to await Ms Hodges; they rubbed against his legs as if sensing that he was leaving, Ta-Miu letting out an uncharacteristic purr. A letter of apology, containing arrangements for the cats, appeared on Ms Hodges' desk. All this took less than a minute.

Smiling back at Michael, he placed his hand in Michael's and let the Warrior pull him up.

With a letter to Raphael miracled on his bed telling him to take care of himself, he'd be loved and missed and should call if he needed anything, Michael and Gabriel took to the air.
