"Good morning, little plants! Now I want you to do your best today! Remember to reach for the sun and... oh my..." He noticed the dark clouds covering what would be a beautiful sunrise. "Okay, you'll have lots of water to drink today. Don't be greedy now and make sure everyone else gets some. Remember how we talked about keeping your roots to yourselves?"

"Oh I wouldn't say that," he said, allowing his wings to stretch a bit. "I just like to take care of them. Talk to them. Make sure they know their hard work is appreciated. What about you? Do you like plants?"

Methos shrugged. "Mostly I don't mind them one way or another, as long as they don't trip me or otherwise make a nuisance of themselves."

Raphael chuckled at that. "Ah yes, plants can be very much like having pets, they can be rebellious at times. Why just this last night Pudge made a nest that included the ears of my bunny slippers."

Methos looked confused. "What kind of a plant is Pudge?" In all his five thousand years he had never heard of a plant that made nests... and certainly not of slipper ears.

"Pudge is my owl," Raphael clarified. He laughed. "I must admit, he can often be LIKE a wild flytrap or something, snapping things up with his beak. Sometimes I think there's not much a difference between the behavior of plants and animals."
