"Good morning, little plants! Now I want you to do your best today! Remember to reach for the sun and... oh my..." He noticed the dark clouds covering what would be a beautiful sunrise. "Okay, you'll have lots of water to drink today. Don't be greedy now and make sure everyone else gets some. Remember how we talked about keeping your roots to yourselves?"

Methos was out for an early-morning walk on the premises when he noticed the red-headed resident talking to the plants. He ambled over.

"Good morning!" he called out.

"Hey," Methos repeated a greeting. "It really is a day to enjoy, isn't it?"

"Enjoyable?" Methos asked. "I wouldn't be so sure. I've had plenty of entirely un-enjoyable days in my life."

None of which he cared very much to reminisce about.

"However, today does not seem to be one of them, so I may as well enjoy it. Where were you going?"

"Sure," Methos said, falling into step next to the redhead. "Are you a gardener?"

Methos shrugged. "Mostly I don't mind them one way or another, as long as they don't trip me or otherwise make a nuisance of themselves."

Methos looked confused. "What kind of a plant is Pudge?" In all his five thousand years he had never heard of a plant that made nests... and certainly not of slipper ears.
