With nothing new to read the attic hideout was getting a little boring - at least when Loki wanted to lie down and rest for a bit. There were still old boxes to explore when he felt more active.

Right now he was tired from his shapeshifting exercises, though, so instead of retreating into the attic he went to the sitting room and turned on the TV. Of course there weren't any documentaries on Lower Tadfield or Judeo-Christianity on just because that was the information Loki currently wanted. It was always the main problem with TV that you had to stick to their schedule and options.

He ended up picking a cartoon show and lay on the couch. Not actually useful information and not as comfortable as his hammock, but at least it wasn't completely boring.

"And I will keep my eyes open", the sphinx said, "in case I just happen to run into him. Perhaps we will have a little... chat.

It wouldn't do to needlessly antagonise any would-be hero, she added to herself, still slightly uneasy. With any luck it was all a coincidence. It had to be. She had nothing whatsoever to do with any Judeo-Christian entities, so by all reason they should leave her alone as well. Unless, of course, someone was using them as pawns, too.

Loki nodded. "Be careful, though. I wouldn't want any harm top come to you before I've even seen you in your best looking shape."

It was an almost automatic reaction and as soon as he'd said them he wished he could take his words back. He wasn't sure what damage the cancer treatment had done to his virility and currently he didn't feel like finding out. He shouldn't be flirting. Hopefully the sphinx would interpret his words correctly.

The Sphix smiled, not entirely friendly. ”Why, I didn’t realise you were so concerned. Or that you had such eye for beasts.” She stretched and got up. It was clear the TV was not going to entertain her, and the conversation was in danger of getting a bit sentimental.

“Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going off to find a book to read.”

Loki laughed. "Half my family are beasts. How could I not love them?"

"Be careful in the library. There's a Judeo-Christian god posing as librarian," he warned. "I haven't seen the hero anywhere near him yet, but you never know."
