In Need of Distraction
Date: June 16
Time: Morning
Location: The Manor, Outside
Status: Public
Summary: Michael goes for a walk.
It was, Michael decided, a nice day. Certainly nice enough that staying indoors seemed just silly. He soon wandered out of the building, intent on exploring the grounds of the manor. After all, it was always wise to know your surroundings.
The sky was nice and clear as he glanced up to it, and he almost ached to fly right up, to spread his wings in the blue, which, yeah, not going to happen right now. It was much better to keep his gaze closer to the ground and focus on something else than the itch at his back.
Now, if only something interesting enough came up to actually distract him.

And what was this? Someone approaching from the manor? Curious Loki went to see who it was.

Wait. The wolf.
Michael did not scream like a little girl, because he had never been either little or a girl (except maybe once or twice, but those times shall never be mentioned again), but his voice was quite high-pitched as he screeched in fright.

And he screamed when he saw her! He was a coward!
Of course she was aware that modern humans were a lot less used to encountering wolves than the Vikings had been, and generally less courageous, too, but they were also a lot less likely to be able to tell the difference between a wolf and a dog - and this surely was no place one would expect a wild animal.
Loki yipped with delight, raised her tail and fur to look more imposing and ran straight towards this excellent new plaything.

Where was a tree when he needed one?

Loki adjusted her speed to remain just behind the boy and snapped playfully at his clothes trying to catch them and give them a little tug. It was a slightly bigger challenge than grabbing his leg would have been even if it was probably a little less scary.
Of course scary didn't really matter when your toy was already in a panicked flight.

Get to the tree. Get up. Focus on that, and nothing else.

Another happy yip escaped her before she remembered effect and added a fierce growl.

Assuming the thing didn't try to stop him from climbing, of course.

The wagging was a disadvantage of canine forms she thought, but on the other hand few other forms got to have this kind of fun.

It had caught him. The beast had actually caught him, and was biting on his clothes. He couldn't escape, not without his wings, and it was only a matter of time before he felt its fangs on his flesh instead of his clothes.
Reaching out his hand, he wished for his sword to appear.

She put on her fiercest growl and tugged harder.

His sword failing to materialize, he tried to kick the beast.

Loki yelped at the sudden pain, though she had had much worse injuries in her life, let go of the cloth and snapped at the leg instead. She wasn't going to bite hard, but the toy should feel it just like she'd felt the kick to her nose.

Oh, it had to have been decades since she'd last had a toy that was this much fun!
