Summary: Loki makes a call

Loki made himself comfortable on his window sill and took out the cell phone he had gotten from somewhere ... someone.

He punched in the number Anathema had written down for him and held the device to his ear, waiting for her to answer.

Not knowing who could be calling her, though she suspected it may be someone needing her for her witchy or descendental roles in life, she picked up the telephone with a smile.

"Hello, this is Anathema."

She always said her name, to prevent people from asking if she was home. Also, it sounded slightly more professional.

"Loki here," Loki said. "From the manor, you know? I promised to call if there was anything odd going on... How abut a guy dying in the manor's lobby and another one lighting up and growing feathers at the same time? I call that odd..."

"Lighting up with feathers? Sounds like an angel. I've definitely met angels before. One stole my book!"

She remembered that well. Thankfully, she had a rather organised mind and wrote all the prophecies down on flash cards.

"A man dying though, how eactly? It's not of a heart attack or old age or anything, is it?"

"Do I look like a doctor to you?" Loki asked, completely ignoring that she couldn't see him. "Him bleeding a lot all over the floor may have had something to do with it."

He considered for a moment. "One of the guys around made him really upset trying to do something to him with an egg, too."

"Yep, that could have something to do with it," Anathema replied, her voice carrying both the amusement she felt at the oddness that kept on happening in her life, and worry for what was going on down at the manor.

"Umm, someone tried to do something with an egg? That one has me stumped. Any clue as to what exactly?"

"No." Loki answered as he made himself more comfortable in his window. "The dead guy was rather afraid of it though, from how it looked. Well, of course he wasn't dead yet at the time, right?"

"That must have been one scary egg," she said, though she couldn't understand why an egg would ever be scary herself. She usually ate them for breakfast.

"So, did the man die, or was he saved?"

"Far as I can tell... He died. Then the other one started to glow and sprout feathers through the back of his clothes."

Loki shook his head at his memory. He'd see plenty of weird stuff over the years, but that ranked among the top.

"Well, that definitely sounds like an angel to me. Seen it myself, men sprouting wings. Kind of funny really."

After a few seconds she added on "Did the dead man come back to life? Because I'm not too sure whether angels have that power or not. It would be an interesting case study though..."

How many opportunities did one get in the world in the supernatural/mythological community while being human?

"Not that I saw," Loki admitted. "But it's not like I stuck around all that long. The angel or whatever stole some stuff from the dead guy, though."

"An angel was stealing off a dead guy? Wow, I didn't think that would be allowed."

Then, she remembered her book... "On other thoughts, I did have my book stolen by an angel, simply because he wanted to read it. I had to work with cards until the world nearly ended."

"Sounds nasty," Loki said, more to sound sympathetic than anything. He personally didn#t see much wrong with taking what was there... even though people tended to call that stealing.

"I guess the guy didn't have much use for the stuff anymore anyway. But it makes a fellow wonder what kinds of things those were."

"Him stealing that book almost caused the entire world, including your existence in it, to be destroyed. If you value your life, then, yes, it was nasty. After, of course, the book was completely useless, and Newt made me destroy the new one..."

Yes, that WAS still a sore point with her.

"No, I don't think he did. It's just kind of surprising to hear of an angel stealing a dead mans things in front fo an audience. Unless it was a demon instead of angel, of course. That's a possibility too. And yes, the things must have been important to warranting stealing in the first place. I wonder what they could be myself."

"Shouldn't a demon have, you know, horns or something?" Loki asked. "Or a tail? Or hooves?"

He considered a second.

"I could point him out to you next time you drop by..."

"The demon I was aquainted with looked like an angel with his wings spread. They were even white and feathery. He did have snake eyes though..."

Anathema tilted her head to one side and considered this. "That might be an idea. I haven't met too many angels though, so its unlikely I'll recognise him, but it is worth a try. You never know."

"I just saw him from behind," Loki said. "The wings he grew were red."

He wondered if he should tell he more, then figured she'd find out that part anyway. "His name's Raphael. The other time I met him he had no wings at all. D'ya want me to meet you at the entrance if you're coming up?"

"Hmm, well, it is said that they can have different coloured wings, so I suppose white is just the default model."

She grinned at the name. "Raphael huh? Hmm, interesting. Sure, meet me at the entrance. I'll come up sometime soon."

"Send me a text message when you're on the way up," Loki suggested. "You've got my number."

"Alright, will do." As a goodbye, she couldn't help but add "Have fun without me."
