Summary: Anubis arrives

One thing about hitchhiking was that you could never be sure when you'd get to where you wanted to be or where you end up in the mean time. Strangely those were the reasons Anubis liked it so much, he'd seen most of Europe that way.

Getting out of his latest lift he looked round at his stop, what was it called again, Lower Tadfield? Well it looked like a good place to rest for a while. With a nod of thanks to the van driver, Anubis hefted his duffel bag over his shoulder and set off in search for the nearest hotel.

Loki had been - well, loitering was probably the correct word to describe what he had been doing. He was just considering going back to the hotel to see if anyone there was up to something interesting, as he noticed the car pulling over at the side of the road.

Out got a man who, judging form his bag, either was just returning from travel or in the middle of travelling. In the second case, he was not a local, so he would not fall under the rule of not 'harming' Lower Tadfield's inhabitants. He'd strike up a conversation, figure it out and maybe relieve the man of his wallet, just to keep his hands nimble.

He lifted a hand in a vague greeting when the man glanced his way. "Hi there. Back from a big trip?"

Loki suppressed a grin. Instead, he made his face interested, but not too much so.
"Where are you going?"

"Really?" Loki said, sounding intrigued. "Where does he live? I may be abel to point you in the right direction."

He stepped closer.

"Seen? Where?" Loki looked up and down the street and gladly used the pretense to take another step closer to the man. With the next step he would be able to brush up against him as he passed him and in the process slide his hand into the man's pocket to lift his wallet. Or whatever else he was carrying.

"I have friends in town as well. I mean, maybe I even know your friend."

"Oooh, I see,"Loki said, exaggerating a little. "I thought you had seen him right here and were going to run after him."

And besides, I needed an excuse to come a little closer. He quickly relieved the man of the contents of his pockets - or anything that seemed to be of interest on first glance (or touch).

"How is London these days? I haven't been there for a while," he went on. "I am staying at a hotel here in town. Getting away from it all, you know. In particular family."

Loki pocketed his catch. He'd look at it later. "The hotel is down that way," he said, pointing. "Nice to meet you, Anubis. I am Loki." He offered his hand.

"You may be interested to know that the hotel caters specifically to the likes of us," he added, commenting on the fact that they were both at least using the names of gods. Whether or not the man in front of him actually was what he made himself out to be by his name remained to be seen.

Loki gave a slight nod to acknowledge Anubis had categorised him correctly. "It's like - a meeting place for the supernatural, non-human and extraterrestrial. And those who'd like to be. It's... quite okay, as hotels go."

"Down that ways," Loki said, pointing. "Big-ish place, used to be a convent of some new cult, so don't be surprised if you run into any.. remnants."

"That, my friend," Loki said, "depends entirely on your personal interests. The woman at the reception desk, Mary Hodges - She's certainly susceptible to male charisma, if you know what I mean. Otherwise - I guess it's best to let you find out for yourself!"
