Summary: Rose still hasn't asked Raphael about keeping his feather

Rose stood in front of Raphael's door, the fiery red feather in her hair above her left ear. She still hadn't asked the angel if he minded her having his feather because she hadn't wanted to disturb his recovery. And then the nightmares had happened.

She shuddered and her right thigh throbbed a bit. The wounds were healing nicely but it would take a few days until she wouldn't feel them anymore. Thanks to Raphael only her thigh hurt and she didn't have to put her left arm in a sling.

Rose took another deep breath and knocked on the door.

Cloud lay on her back, growling happily, hind legs twitching while Raphael brushed her belly. Her wagging tail brushed the sheets and her eyes had slid closed sometime during the grooming.

Raphael continued to groom her, taking care to make sure he was careful around her face and belly. He was slow and took his time working the fur until it seemed to shine.

Letting out a yawn he set his brush aside and snuggled up beside Cloud, wrapping an armand a wing around her as if she were a teddy bear.

Cloud yawned as well, twisted around once to tenderly lick Raphael's neck and then curled up around her friend for a nap, snuggling into arm and wing and body.

Raphael moved to snuggle further into Cloud's soft fur. He slowly slipped into unconsciousness, feeling strangely comforted and safe safe safe... No matter what, he would do whatever it takes to keep Rose's secret a secret. Nobody else would ever find out, he would be sure of it. Subconsciously tightening his arm around her his dreams became filled with angels singing and a Presence he longed to feel once again.

Strong arms holding her, warm breath in her fur, the presence of another warm body next to her... Cloud just enjoyed the cuddle, her eyes closing slowly and her breathing evening out. The wagging of her tail got slower and slower until it stopped completely when she finally fell asleep...
