Time: May 6, 2003
Place: The Lobby
Status: Public, open
Summary: The Doctor arrives at the Manor
Following Duncan, The Doctor let his mind wander. How was he supposed to fix the TARDIS? He assumed the hotel was in or near a little village, you don't find many open fields and country roads near the city. He might be able to manage if there was a hardware store.
And then there was the manner of money. He had none. He'd have to sonic an ATM. Oh, he hated that. Never seemed fair, but you had to do what you had to do.
Finally, they arrived at the hotel, which wasn't what he had been expecting. He turned toward Duncan, "Do you know who should I see for a room?"

Date: Monday, 12 July 2010 15:34 (UTC)"What's your name, never did get it, did I?" Oh, that was a bit embarassing! Where were his manners?

Date: Monday, 12 July 2010 17:59 (UTC)It was supposed to be funny, but he feared the joke was rather a lame one.

Date: Thursday, 15 July 2010 04:05 (UTC)"Well!" She sauntered up to the men. "Who is your friend, Duncan?" She placed her perfectly manicured hand on Duncan's arm in a familiar way, arching her brow at the Doctor.

Date: Thursday, 15 July 2010 18:53 (UTC)"If I recall correctly, you were going to take a room and call a towing service for your phone booth," he said, placing careful emphasis on phone booth.

Date: Sunday, 25 July 2010 14:19 (UTC)"So, you're the one I'm supposed to see for a room, right? And, uh, do you have a phone I could use? And maybe a phone book, as well?"
(no subject)
Date: Sunday, 25 July 2010 19:59 (UTC)"Hello, sir. I'm Rose Heerkens and yes, you can get a room here if you want. And yes again, you can use the phone and the phone book."
With these words she first pushed the telephone on the desk closer to the guest and then handed him the phone book.

Date: Monday, 26 July 2010 15:20 (UTC)Well, now this was going to be a bit awkward. After a bit of flipping through the book, he found the towing section. The first company he called hung up. So did the second. The third would do it, for a fee, and if he had any sense about money and its value, he would have winced.
"Now, about a room. Duncan mentioned you could stay for free if you were, supernatural. Do time travelers count?" He wouldn't mention being an alien for now.

Date: Monday, 26 July 2010 21:37 (UTC)On the other hand I've had no problem with meeting angels, why not a time traveler?
"That's an interesting question, sir. Are time travelers supernatural beings?"
(no subject)
Date: Wednesday, 28 July 2010 18:10 (UTC)"Auctually, I'm not sure. What are the requirements to be classified as supernatural. I'm ...not human."
He shrugged, "Would that make me supernatural?"
(no subject)
Date: Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:06 (UTC)"I'm not sure if you count as supernatural but that's easy enough to check. Give me a few minutes and I'll call Adam. He's in charge here."
She reached into her pocket where she's put the piece of paper with Adam's mobile phone number and then made the call, waiting for Adam to answer.

Date: Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:14 (UTC)He pulled it out and flipped it open.
"Yeah?"

Date: Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:15 (UTC)"Hi Adam, it's Rose. I have a slight problem at the reception concerning the question if a guest qualifies as supernatural or not. Do you have a few moments?"
(no subject)
Date: Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:19 (UTC)Now he regretted the tone in which he had greeted her. He brushed his free hand through his hair before he realised how stupid it was. She couldn't even see him.
"Rose!" he said, a lot more cheerfully. "Nice to hear from you! Sure, I have a moment. Two moments even."

Date: Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:24 (UTC)"Great. It's like this: Here's a new guest. He looks pretty human to me but says he isn't. He says he's a time traveler and he just called a towing service to get his phone booth to the manor. Does that mean he falls into the category supernatural and doesn't have to pay?"
(no subject)
Date: Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:27 (UTC)That was a lie. He had had no intention of going to the manor. Well, plans were made to be changed after all.
(no subject)
Date: Wednesday, 28 July 2010 20:36 (UTC)Rose didn't want to make the new guest wait, but it was Adam's decision. So she smiled at the man.
"Adam will be here shortly. He was on his way anyway and will talk to you personally. I apologize for the delay. Would you like to choose a room now or do you want to wait until you know if you can stay for free?"
(no subject)
Date: Friday, 30 July 2010 16:50 (UTC)"Well, I will be staying here either way, so I might as well pick a room."
He would have to stay, there was nowhere else he could go. And even if he couldn't stay for free he had means to get money to pay.
"Adam?"
(no subject)
Date: Friday, 30 July 2010 18:43 (UTC)Rose smiled at the newcomer, wanting to give him a moment to think. Then she remembered his last question.
"Yes, Adam. He's in charge here, and your phone booth got him curious I guess. So he'll talk to you personally. He's also the one to decide if you fall under the definition of supernatural."
(no subject)
Date: Monday, 2 August 2010 00:09 (UTC)He smiled. He'd like to meet this Adam.
"Ah, alright. When a man with a phonebooth turns up out of nowhere, it does get people talking."
Any preferences concerning the room number?
Date: Tuesday, 3 August 2010 09:27 (UTC)Rose went over the documents to find a free and freshly cleaned room on the third floor and then handed the new guest the necessary forms and a pen.
"You could fill in these until Adam arrives. If you don't mind. It'll have to be done anyway, no matter if you're supernatural or not..."
Nope, none.
Date: Saturday, 7 August 2010 01:02 (UTC)And, if he hadn't diagreed with the bloody manual and done that, he wouldn't be here. And here seemed like an adventure. For now, at least. He began to fill out the forms, signing in the correct places, then handed it back to her.
Re: Nope, none.
Date: Sunday, 22 August 2010 09:47 (UTC)Still, wherne he arrived, he took a moment to draw his fingers to his hair, hoping he didn't look too disshevelled or anything.
He pusehd open the door to the lobby and stepped inside.
Rose was at the reception desk, and there was a man standing across from her.
"Hi," he said to both of them and gave Rose a bright smile before addressing the man. "Are you the guy with the phonebooth?"
Sorry for late reply, Dad's been in the hospital
Date: Thursday, 2 September 2010 13:56 (UTC)He was younger than he expected, but his eyes seemed too old for his face. He knew those eyes well, ones that had seen more than anyone would believe.
