 Time: May 6, 2003
Place: The Lobby
Status: Public, open
Summary: The Doctor arrives at the Manor

Following Duncan, The Doctor let his mind wander. How was he supposed to fix the TARDIS? He assumed the hotel was in or near a little village, you don't find many open fields and country roads near the city. He might be able to manage if there was a hardware store.

And then there was the manner of money. He had none. He'd have to sonic an ATM. Oh, he hated that. Never seemed fair, but you had to do what you had to do.

Finally, they arrived at the hotel, which wasn't what he had been expecting. He turned toward Duncan, "Do you know who should I see for a room?"

Duncan shrugged. "I dunno," he said. "You'd have to ask the lady at the reception desk. She'll know."

He went up to the door and held it open for the man.

"I'm Duncan McLeod of the Clan McLeod," Duncan said. "And you? Travels-in-Phonebooths?"

It was supposed to be funny, but he feared the joke was rather a lame one.

As the gentlemen continued their conversation, the sound of heels tapped down the stairs that led up to the second floor. Red pumps were followed by shapely legs, a fringed red skirt, and an equally crimson tank top. As 'Dite came fully into view, she spotted Duncan and let her lips split into a wide smile. She hadn't seen him in what she deemed a relatively short period of time (given her extreme longevity) although in relativity it was quite a few days. After their luncheon upon her arrival, she'd contracted a nasty stomach ailment that had caused her to flee to her room for a time. Now that she was feeling much better - and far more sociable - she decided it was time to make herself known around the manor.

"Well!" She sauntered up to the men. "Who is your friend, Duncan?" She placed her perfectly manicured hand on Duncan's arm in a familiar way, arching her brow at the Doctor.

Duncan suddenly sported a very wide, very stupid smile. "He's the Doctor, he says," he repeated. "Doctor, this is Aphrodite Papadopoulos. Another guest here."

OOC: Dite, are we going to finish our dinner?

[identity profile] thinksexy.livejournal.com 2010-07-15 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
'Dite held out her hand to the Doctor, smiling a greeting, other hand still on Duncan's arm. "Pleasure," she murmured.

ooc: bwak, yes... need to get back to that. I'll do that now

[identity profile] mcleod1592.livejournal.com 2010-07-15 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Duncan pointed at the reception desk.

"If I recall correctly, you were going to take a room and call a towing service for your phone booth," he said, placing careful emphasis on phone booth.

[identity profile] thinksexy.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
It was a reaction she was well used to but still enjoyed, none-the-less. "So what are you two young men up to?"

[identity profile] thinksexy.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
"Wait..." She looked between the two men. "Phone booth?"

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-07-16 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Rose sat behind the reception desk, waiting for something to happen or her shift to end. Her sharp ears picked up the voices of Joe's friend and a stranger before those two men even opened the door and she decided to just listen in until someone spoke to her directly.

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-07-25 07:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Rose smiled at the newcomer.

"Hello, sir. I'm Rose Heerkens and yes, you can get a room here if you want. And yes again, you can use the phone and the phone book."

With these words she first pushed the telephone on the desk closer to the guest and then handed him the phone book.

[identity profile] mcleod1592.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Duncan grinned at the thought of a man travelling in a phone booth requesting a phone and phone book and winked at Dite as he stood back to see how the girl would deal with this strange guy.

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-07-26 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, someone needing someone else to get his phone booth to the manor was most certainly something new. When he called himself a time traveler, Rose seriously doubted his sanity for a moment.

On the other hand I've had no problem with meeting angels, why not a time traveler?

"That's an interesting question, sir. Are time travelers supernatural beings?"

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Rose thought about it for a moment.

"I'm not sure if you count as supernatural but that's easy enough to check. Give me a few minutes and I'll call Adam. He's in charge here."

She reached into her pocket where she's put the piece of paper with Adam's mobile phone number and then made the call, waiting for Adam to answer.

[identity profile] neutral-adam.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Adam's cell rang just as he was about to leave the house. Great.

He pulled it out and flipped it open.

"Yeah?"

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Rose was relieved to hear Adam answer the phone.

"Hi Adam, it's Rose. I have a slight problem at the reception concerning the question if a guest qualifies as supernatural or not. Do you have a few moments?"

[identity profile] neutral-adam.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. Rose.

Now he regretted the tone in which he had greeted her. He brushed his free hand through his hair before he realised how stupid it was. She couldn't even see him.

"Rose!" he said, a lot more cheerfully. "Nice to hear from you! Sure, I have a moment. Two moments even."

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, this seemed to be her lucky day then. Rose was glad that she could leave the decision up to Adam. She didn't want to be responsible for taking money from someone who didn't have to pay, but she didn't want to lose the hotel money either.

"Great. It's like this: Here's a new guest. He looks pretty human to me but says he isn't. He says he's a time traveler and he just called a towing service to get his phone booth to the manor. Does that mean he falls into the category supernatural and doesn't have to pay?"

[identity profile] neutral-adam.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"A phone booth?" Adam asked. "Eh - does he have money where he comes from? What's he doing with a phone booth? Wait - I was just about to come over anyway. I think I want to see that."

That was a lie. He had had no intention of going to the manor. Well, plans were made to be changed after all.

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-07-28 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
"Alright, we'll wait for you. Bye."

Rose didn't want to make the new guest wait, but it was Adam's decision. So she smiled at the man.

"Adam will be here shortly. He was on his way anyway and will talk to you personally. I apologize for the delay. Would you like to choose a room now or do you want to wait until you know if you can stay for free?"

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-07-30 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good. We have three different kinds of rooms here. On the first floor are the biggest roomes with a king sized bed and a bathtub in the bathroom each. The rooms on the second floor are a bit smaller with only a single bed but they still have a bathtub. The smallest rooms are those on the third floor with a single bed and only a shower. But those rooms would also be the most quiet as most public rooms are on the ground floor."

Rose smiled at the newcomer, wanting to give him a moment to think. Then she remembered his last question.

"Yes, Adam. He's in charge here, and your phone booth got him curious I guess. So he'll talk to you personally. He's also the one to decide if you fall under the definition of supernatural."

Any preferences concerning the room number?

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-08-03 09:27 am (UTC)(link)
"Your phonebooth has a name? But yes, someone showing up wanting to have his phonebooth towed to the hotel makes people curious I guess..."

Rose went over the documents to find a free and freshly cleaned room on the third floor and then handed the new guest the necessary forms and a pen.

"You could fill in these until Adam arrives. If you don't mind. It'll have to be done anyway, no matter if you're supernatural or not..."

Re: Nope, none.

[identity profile] neutral-adam.livejournal.com 2010-08-22 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Adam didn't exactly race over to the manor. He didn't want anyone to think he was that anxious to get there.

Still, wherne he arrived, he took a moment to draw his fingers to his hair, hoping he didn't look too disshevelled or anything.

He pusehd open the door to the lobby and stepped inside.

Rose was at the reception desk, and there was a man standing across from her.

"Hi," he said to both of them and gave Rose a bright smile before addressing the man. "Are you the guy with the phonebooth?"

[identity profile] roseheerkens.livejournal.com 2010-09-02 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hi Adam", Rose replied with a smile. "I'm glad you're here, really."

And she was. That way, she wouldn't have to decide in this strange situation.
