Summary: Aziraphale is a bit peeved that Raphael is here and didn't tell him.

Aziraphale found Room 110 easily enough, and he knocked on the door, tapping his foot in agitation.

Oh, he was going to let him have it.  There was no way that that silly, self-sacrificing mentor of his was going to get away with coming here, injured, and not telling him!

Aziraphale bit his lower lip. Which would be worse, confessing that his best friend was a demon, or admitting he was here because he was being stalked by a Crown?

The former. Definitely the former.

"You see," he admitted softly, "I'm not at the Manor for pleasure. Somehow I managed to offend Beelzebub, and so... for my safety..."

Raphael nearly choked on a bit of Oreo cookie. "Azi- why didnt you tell me? I could have..."

He stopped. Could have what, exactly? He was nearly killed by a Hellbeast, going against Beelzebub would have... Well, it would have reduced him to liquid angel for one.

"I'm sorry," he finally said. I'm sorry I cant protect you...

Some Archangel he was.

Aziraphale shook his head. "Don't be sorry, my dear. My big mouth got me into trouble, and now I just have to deal with the consequences. And besides," he reminded him gently, "we've only just seen each other again, it's not as if I could have told you much sooner than now."

"He must be stalking you pretty closely for it to be in your aura like that," he pointed out. "Have you talked to Michael or Gabriel about this?"

Aziraphale's smile was rather twisted. "Yes. Oh goodness me, yes. Sometimes I wish I had just let Beelzebub kill me as opposed to getting those two involved."

Suddenly Raphael no longer wanted his ice cream. Images of a Hellbeast and blood and claws and death surged through his mind. It was tearing Aziraphale apart, the young Principality screaming and screaming for him, reaching out with blood-slicked fingers but he can't help him he can't help him...

"I know how you feel," he said quietly, gaze shifting away from his mentee so he wouldn't see the pain in dull emerald eyes. He swallowed the dry lump in his throat. Gabriel and Michael had worried about him, were probably still worried... How could he have done this to them?

I should have let the Hellbeast kill me.

Aziraphale realised he had misspoken from the look on Raphael's face, and so he reached out and gently but firmly pressed the older angel's shoulders. "I was jesting, dear," he said softly. "The two of them are just fussing and arguing over how best to deal with my situation, that's all. I take it, however, that you know all too well how much they can fuss... My dear Raphael, can you please tell me what happened to you?"

He chuckled. "I am familiar with it, yes. They had to force-feed me the day I arrived and well..." At least the shaking had lessened. Before he couldn't even hold a spoon to feed himself.

At the question, his gaze shifted back to the Oreo Cookie Shake, wondering if he should worry yet another being. "I'll tell you, but I want to know what's really going on with the demonic taint in your aura, okay?" He gave his mentee a kind smile and took his hand in his own. "I know there's more going on my dear. I used to mentor you, remember?"

Aziraphale sighed and smiled. "All right, uncomfortable fact for uncomfortable fact. But you start, as I asked first."

Raphael didn't speak right away, only stirring his dessert and he contemplated what to do. He loved Aziraphale and to be honest the Principality was the sort anyone could tell anything to. Still, he didn't want to worry him, even if it meant not knowing what that demonic taint was.

"So, what are you reading my dear?" It wasn't just an attempt at changing the subject, Raphael really was interested in what his dear mentee was up to.

Aziraphale smiled patiently. "Oh, it depends on what mood strikes me. Most of my books are back in London, so I've been relying a lot on the internets to help me read things."

Not pornography. No. Never that. Nor that, the, what was it, "literotica," either. Of course plenty of his books had lewd subject matter but that was hardly the focus, and it was tastefully done, and - Oh, right.

"I would just love to curl up with a large mug of cocoa and some Roman comedies," he said with a sigh.

Raphael smiled fondly at him, then slowly closed his eyes a bit as a wave of visible exhaustion hit him. "So what... what's your favorite?" he asked, opening his eyes again and looking into Aziraphale's blue ones. His fiery wings began to unconsciously curl around him, signalling that his body was ready to curl up for a nap.

But Raphael didn't want to go! He wanted to catch up with his mentee and friend, who knew when they would be able to do something like this, just the two of them? He straightened, trying to will hos traitorous corporation to stop feeling so... well...

Aziraphale pondered that. "My favourite? I don't particularly have one. I do enjoy Paradise Lost, I patronise Wilde, my speciality is apocryphal religious material and texts referring to the End of Times. I don't have a favourite; how could I choose just one?"

He chuckled fondly. "I can understand that, dear."

He fought back another wave of exhaustion. "Dear, I'm so sorry, I just... I want to stay with you, I'm just so exhausted and... Oh, I'm so sorry, dear, I'm just..."

Aziraphale smiled and nodded, standing up and picking the older angel up easily and starting to walk back to the Manor. "Not a problem, dear, not a problem. Just promise me you'll stop by, yes? I do miss you and our talks. And also let me know if you start feeling worse or if you stop getting any better, so I can help."

"I'll be alright dear..."

Even as he spoke he was falling asleep.

Human corporations could be so dreadful sometimes. "I'd like to get together again sometime," he said. "But soon. Let's not let so much time pass until next time."

Raphael reached over and gently squeezed his hand, closing his eyes as sleep finally took him.

"Agreed," Aziraphale said fondly, carrying Raphael back. He executively decided that Raphael oughtn't be alone, and anyway the Archangel was just so cuddly, and so he unlocked Raphael's door, tucked him in, and curled up around him.
