Summary: Gabriel writes Uriel a letter.

Gabriel sighed, running a hand through his mussed hair. He could still remember Michael's awkward laugh, and the way he had reacted to Gabriel's fear. It was hard, avoiding his best friend; he missed Michael terribly, and wanted nothing more than to knock on Michael's door and ask the Warrior to a meal and pretend everything was normal between them.

Earl Grey jumped into his lap and he absent-mindedly scratched behind the grey cat's ears, listening to his purring. It reminded him of the way Raphael purred when he was happy, and a small smile tugged at his lips. He missed Raphael and Uriel, too; for all intents and purposes, they were brothers. *

His thoughts turned to Uriel. I wish you were here, Uriel.

Come to think of it, Uriel could come here, couldn't he? Smiling, he carefully lifted Earl Grey off his lap and moved to the desk, pulling a clean sheet of paper and a pen towards him, and began to write a letter to Uriel.

... I am currently staying at Tadfield Manor, a hotel in Lower Tadfield, in Britain. It is... an odd place; Adam Young is running it, and he lets beings like ourselves stay here for free in return for promising not to cause any harm to the town, its people, property, or each other. I suppose calling it a 'neutral place' would be accurate. Perhaps you could come and stay for a while, and keep me company. It is a nice place, and I would love to have you here. I miss you.

Finally, he signed it and tried to fold it into a pretty paper crane, as he had once seen. After a few messy attempts, he tried a simpler bird design.

Half an hour later, he stared at the creased mess, barely recognisable as a letter. Sighing, he miracled the creases away and folded it into a neat square, writing Uriel's name on it. He concentrated for a moment and the letter disappeared, reappearing on Uriel's table.

Now he could only hope that Uriel would take him up on the invitation.

* Gabriel never asked himself why he'd never considered Michael a brother.
