Choosing a chair was unexpectedly difficult. Jan wanted to sit as far from McLeod and Dawson as possible, avoid the lunatics and maybe Benjamin as well.
He looked around for empty chairs next to people he knew. His first choice would have been the Sargeant, but he didn't want another encounter with the lunatic from the stairs, if he could avoid it. Sitting next to Rose was out of the question, seeing how she not only had a lunatic next to her but also Dawson nearby.
