Gabriel was going even faster... meaning Uriel was going to fly even faster, too. Not because of pride, obviously, but rather as a friendly rivalry. There was certainly nothing wrong with that.
"I never said there was anything wrong with that," Uriel replied calmly. "Just that it's not exactly the standard way, and I have enough trouble trying to figure out the human habits even without purposefully acting in an unusual manner. And if we were actually in a labyrinth, I'd think our largest concern would be how we ended up there rather than how we should get out."
