As usual, Gabriel's feathers were remarkably messy. He tried to smooth the feathers, watching the blue highlight flash across them. Being the Messenger, his wingspan, like Uriel's, was slightly larger than that of the average angel.
"You could try locating all the angelic auras, and then avoiding them," he joked. "Or, what's that rule about labyrinths? Keep left? Or we can go exploring together one day and try making a map."
The breeze had increased in strength, ruffling his hair and feathers, and he laughed for no reason. Bending one leg very slightly at the knee, he turned to flash Uriel a challenging grin. "Race you to that wood?"
Without waiting for a reply, he took off, laughing again as he felt the wind against his wings and body. He simply flew slowly and aimlessly for a moment, enjoying the feeling of weightlessness, of freedom, before turning towards the forest and increasing his speed.
