Gabriel put the water down and shifted Michael on the bed, moving him into a more comfortable position, before pulling the blanket up to his shoulders and placing a hand on his forehead. He winced at the temperature.

Curling up alone on his bed with one of the cats sounded nice; Michael wasn't well, though, and he couldn't just leave him. Pulling a chair up to the bedside, he sat and begin to wipe Michael's brow with a cool cloth.
Gabriel pushed Michael's curls out of his damp forehead, fingers lingering for a moment as a tiny, affectionate smile played on his lips. You'd better recover soon.
