Crowley would have frozen in place had he been moving. As it was he stopped breathing, silently berating himself for being thoughtless. He had momentarily forgotten the other nightmare he'd had. The demon was trying to act as normal as possible, despite being on the angel's lap and despite having apparently just woken up from what was quite literally one of his worst nightmares.
"Ssssure," he finally replied, trying for nonchalance. Crowley needed to seem perfectly fine because otherwise the angel would read him like a book and know he was planning something.*
*And he WAS planning something, even if he didn't know what yet. He merely knew he had to make certain he never betrayed Aziraphale.
