Summary: Loki makes a decision


“So you thought you could deceive me?” Odin roared. “You pathetic little weakling? Did you really think I couldn’t feel that the bond is gone? Did you think I wouldn’t find out?”

“I … I …” sobbed Loki searching desperately for away to talk himself out of this, but his famous quick tongue seemed to have deserted him. All that he could produce were more sobs.

“Get out of my sight, you cowardly vermin! I never want to see you again!” Odin yelled and to make sure Loki obeyed his command grabbed him by the collar and physically threw him out the door.

Loki tumbled out and past the rainbow bridge and then he was falling, falling …

He woke in his bed in Lower Tadfield, drenched with sweat and shaking all over and it took him a minute or two to get his bearings and realise it had been nothing more than another nightmare. That didn’t help much, though.

Things couldn’t go on like this. He had to find the real Odin and get it over with. If he proved to himself that he could deceive his best friend and brother, then surely the nightmares would stop.

Even though it was still the middle of the night Loki got up and dressed hurriedly. He threw his possessions into the backpack, checked one last time that it contained everything he needed, then slipped it on and hurried away not even bothering to close the door. He’d take the first train to London, go to the airport from there. He’d visit Czernobog first when he got to America, he decided and if he didn’t know where Odin was, perhaps Anansi. Someone surely would.
