Gabriel was wondering whether to fire at Loki or continue looking for higher ground, perhaps shinning up a drainpipe or something of the sort, when Aziraphael was shot at again. This time, the shot came from above.

"The roof," he murmured. Evidently the opposition, too, had had a similar plan. Barnaby must be on the roof. He must have flown up, perhaps behind the building.

Should he dampen his aura and fly up as well, or find some otehr vantage point? Either way, he had to keep moving; if Barnaby was firing from the edge, at that angle, he'd be able to see Gabriel himself soon if he hadn't already.
