"Indeed," Loki agreed. "What would the world be without fire? What would humankind be without fire? As you so aptly described, fire in itself is neither good nor evil. It is all a matter of perspective, and a matter of what use it is put to. It can be guided, but never truly tamed. Even that small fire there," he indicated the candleflame, "that you could extinguish with hardly more effort that I put into lighting it would burn you if you do not show it the proper respect. And yet even the largest, destructive forest fire will, when it has run its course, leave fertile ground for people to plant in."
He smiled. "Fire is nothing to be feared - merely respected. And it has a way to remind people that it deserves their respect."
