As a matter of fact, in his opinion, impressive doors were there more to distract people's attention from the inadequacy of their surroundings, but he wasn't going to say that. Impressive doors were also a completely unneccessary way of announcing more wealth than was good for any one person and thus should probably be diverted to the pockets of those who were able to enter these same doors without getting the proper key first.
